>Me on my 7th birthday
>"happy birthday anon,we got you a game you might like
>usually licensed garbage and never an actual good game.
Anyone else hated their birthday for this reason?
>>337779820
I'm likewise happy that this was actually decent. As was the film.
I got The Bourne Conspiracy for xbox360 and I thought it was great.
Seriously hope you're not implying Toy Story 2 was a bad game.
>>337779820
toy story 2 was fucking good though
I kinda know the feeling, except I still liked the licensed garbage.
But I did not get my first real games (non-licensed or non-kids games like R&C/Sly/Crash) until I was like 11 or so. I can't comprehend how some kids played Mario or Zelda in their childhood.
>>337779820
That game was good though
No my parents asked which games I wanted
>ask Mom for Toy Story game
>she gets me Toy Story 2
>be kinda disappointed
>play the game
>no longer disappointed
Eat shit OP Toy Story 2 is fucking awesome. Always had trouble with the goo bin boss as a kid though
Remember getting this too.
That ghost level did spook me a bit or the one where an alien Stu has an arm coming out of his belly.
hehe
>>337779820
go fuck yourself that game is good you ungrateful piece of shit
>>337780408
I always got lost in the pyramid level that shit still haunts me
Sucks being you I guess
Ahh...that was a fun birthday

Screw all of you, privileged birthday boys.I was born on December 25th.
>>337780750
Jesus?
>>337780000
Quads confirm
Choke on a million dicks OP
>>337780590
that game is horrible.
>>337779820
Nah, I grew up poor. Two presents a year, one on Christmas and one on my birthday. It didn't matter how shitty the game was, I was playing it almost exclusively for six months. You learned to appreciate diamonds in the rough like pic related.
>>337780876
Fuck off arin
>>337779820
>pic not related
>>337780000
The quads have spoken
But seriously OP the N64 version was better.
I always get brain zaps when I see something disgustingly cheap and cashgrabby, this was one of those things that I got for Christmas staying over at a cousin's house. And I was there for a week, so I had to actually play it.
>>337780895
That's true.
This and Bomberman 64 were/still are great.
Makes me wonder how they chose what games to get me.
That. Fucking. Soundtrack.

>Me
>"Hey anon, what game do you want for your birthday"
>I ask for Mascot and Friends Unicycle Adventure
>"Ok. We'll see what we can do. Give me a list of some alternatives, in case we can't find it"
>On birthday
>"Hey, we got that game you wanted. Happy birthday!"
>My younger brother
>"Hey anon's brother, what do you want for your birthday?"
>He asks for Demon Gangster Turf War 2: Military Themed Murder Simulator
>"Uhh, sure?"
>On birthday
>"What the fuck was that shit? There's no way in hell we're buying you that. We got you Superman 64 instead."
>My youngest brother
>"Hey anon's youngest brother, what game do you want for your birthday?"
>He asks for all his money in steam giftcards
>"Where do I even buy those?"
>On birthday
>"Well, we found them. I dunno why you want these, but I hope you like them"
>He uses the steam money to buy Post-apocalyptic Indie Survivor: Check Your Privilege Edition
>>337779820
>got the Incredibles game on Xbox instead of fucking Halo 2
>>337779820
>parents know you like thing

Don't be shitty, OP, niggas actually put thought into the gift.
>>337781990
I have to say your youngest brother was the smart one.
>wanted Crash Bandicoot
>got this instead
Well at least I was able to get Spyro 2 down the line.
>Was like 12 and Sonic Adventure 2 was my next hypest game
>Parents couldn't find it for Christmas
>They get me Phantasy Star Online which had a Demo disk for SA2.
>I was furious, but played the Demo. Upset I didn't have the real game.
>Dad plays PSO after I'm done.
>Hey this looks kind of cool actually...
>Start playing it myself when I can
>Become addicted and one of my favorite games
My parents just asked me what I wanted and usually I either got what I wanted, or money was tight so I only got some of it. That was most of the time so the excitement was which of my wishlist I did get, not whether I got something good at all or not.
>>337782904
I know this feel. Made me appreciate what I could get. For the most part at least.
my moms only bought me anime games, which I was totally okay with as long as they were censored.
>>337781990
Your younger brother wanted Digital Devil Saga 2?
>>337779820
>been born on December 25th
>receive this for my bday
JUST
>>337781990
Why did your younger brother get fucked over?
>>337779820
>>337780962
>PS1
>N64
>not playing it on a beastly Pentium II
>>337784409
Didn't know shit about PC games. Gateway were the best we could get.
>>337780750

>>337779820
>be little kid
>get shit video game
>act happy even tho i probably wont play it
was that so hard anon?
why do u give your mother such a hard life..... go upstairs right now and say sorry.
My parents got me Contra and Ninja Turtles on the NES for my 7th birthday.
>>337785529
I used to be spoiled and when i get wrong presents i got mad
i regret it everyday ;_;
>Ask for games that I was interested in from commercials, magazines, or heard about from general word of mouth
>Wasn't uncommon for me to receive money from friends/relatives and I'd go ahead and pick out whatever game I thought might be good
>Parents understood that some games just weren't particularly good and wouldn't be offended if I asked to return the game or exchange it for something else
