Isn't Blissey considered really good?

what would you call the type then, huh?

It just means they have no elemental properties.

Yes, dumbass. "Normal," as in "non-elemental."

Blissey is old news. Her younger, prettier sister Chancey is what everyone uses now.

I would just make most of those ground types, since ground water and flying types mostly refer to the environment the pokemon lives in rather than "elemental attunement", with some exceptions.
>>
>>337726571

Except there are now elemental property normal types.
>>
>>337726862
ghost can pass through mundane substances, ie incomporial

fighting types are on the basis that their techniques naturally fuck mundane shit up

Normal type is my favorite type.
Pic related is god-tier.
>>
>>337727379
both have the ability to change their types
they are "normal" by default not by being typeless but by having aspects of all sorts of types
>>
>>337727379

Normal used to be
>Generic animal mon with no elemental attirubtes
>Data or computer graphics
>sound based
>fairies

Then fairy came out and took away the "fairy" property with the exception of blissy.

God is normal because his plates determine his typing.

God being normal is the best choice since that kinda implies infinite potential, in fact the plates let it change type at will.
The alternative would giving it ??? type or something.
>>
>>337728098
>fairy type mega blissey soon
you know it's true.
>>
>>337728236
the ??? was scrapped in gen 5

the type was super effective against everything but normal, which it was weak against
>>
>>337726862
Being immune to ghost is playing on the idea ghost can't physically interact with regular things on this plane of existence... which for some reason ignores all the pokemon they can attack are on the same plane of existence.

Being weak to fighting is playing on the idea that people trained in fighting could easily best average joes with no fighting experience... which for some reason ignores all pokemon are trained for fighting, even normal types.

I think I'd just go with non-metallic 100% artificial Pokémon in general. Don't forget Castform.

normal attacks are based around raw power, fighting attacks are based around techniques and finesse

normal attacks involve such things as the use of natural weapons (horn attack/scratch) or simply brute strength (mega punch/kick) which would fail to be effective against a martial arts master
>>
>>337728796
artificial doesn't matter
pokemon that naturally change their type are normal to begin with
porygon counts as such due to its conversion 1 and 2 moves (granted, they are shitty but they count)
same with things like ditto, castform, kecleon etc
>>
>>337728848
>which would fail to be effective against a martial arts master
BUT normal deals 1x damage on fighting. The only deal with the two is fighting dealing 2x damage for some reason. It kind of fucks with that theory.
>>
>>337728594
"Fighting" in terms of martial arts, not just combat. All Fighting-types emulate specific fighting styles or organized combat tropes.

It's the same way Dark isn't literally elemental darkness so much as trickery or sneakiness. A lot of the types and interactions are based on slightly more abstract logic than their names let on.
>>
>>337729151
Maybe Fighting type pokemon focus on offence and not defence at all.
>>
>>337729151
balance issues most likely
normal already isn't super effective against anything, adding to much types that resist it would throw the entire type out of whack
remember its still a videogame
>>
>>337728848
I was wondering why mega punch and kick weren't fighting type moves but that makes sense.

Normal types are kind of like just realistic-animal types when you think about it. But that wouldn't make sense for fighting types to super effect them since martial arts are designed to fight humans, not animals.

>God is a computer
>>
>>337728594

Normal attacks are just basic attacks, fighting attacks have technique, pressure points and such that would dominate normal types.

We can assume normal types are weak to fighting because fighting types have a grasp of normal type physiology where as elemental mons are more obscure (they typically have bizarre physiology such a slugmas molten body) and this why is fighting dominates normal types, because it's essentially of a familiar form, where as everything else is more mystical.

In essence fighting is an enhanced normal type.

Normal is my favourite type.
I especially like defense bulk dog.
>>
>>337731267
>the double battle with 2 furfrous.

I have PTSD from that fight during a nuzlocke.
>>
>>337729573

Fighting also dominates types that resist normal.

A normal horn stab or slap wouldn't hurt a rock type or steel type, they're too tough.

Fighting types are superior at physical combat and know how to maximize their physical limitations to shatter rock or pierce steel.
>>
>>337728259

I have a feeling they wanted blissy to be fairy type, but realized it would piss off competitive players since fairy would ruin it's defenses.

Sound type fucking when?
>>
>>337732823

Flying is like Ground and Water, it's either representing the environment the pokemon lives in or is an elemental representation.

That genie is the only one who'd qualify as a wind type, hence pure flying.
