We won't know for sure till it's out but from what they've shown it seems the PS4 remaster is literally just the PC version. But then the PC version has the added bonus of modding, optional kb+mouse configuration, downsampling, supports resolutions over 1080p and it's much cheaper.

You can downsample from 4k on the PC version. Makes an actually big difference and you can most likely maintain 60fps since the optimization is amazing

Unless it's broken to the point where you can't win, this is irrelevant.
Gameplay feels very trial and error and sometimes depends a little on luck in the harder difficulties.
Story wise it's your generic anime tropes with the protagonist being an oblivious idiot around the girl he knew as a kid and him being a natural leader in wanting peace.
Also they're always distraught about having to kill enemies during the cutscenes but will laugh and wink at the camera when they kill an enemy in game. Kinda of made it hard for me to care for the cast.

It's broken to the point where you can win with one unit. I think balance is really important in a tactics game as most of the enjoyment is derived from figuring out viable tactics. Mods should make the game more fun by making that stuff actually matter.

Was there ever a way to replay chapters for fun? I had the game on PS3, and not being able to replay chapters other than skirmishes always weirded me out, especially since the book-styled menu let me look directly at them.

the only difference is fxaa on pc removing detail and ps4 seems to have used an emboss shader on the textures(you can do this on pc too). emboss is like cartoon line shading but it gives textures a depth bump making the normal maps look fatter.

It was one of the best games of last gen. If you didn't get it on PS3, then go for it. Though I'd suggest just getting it on PC when there' a steam sale. With enough sales, it might also encourage them to port the second and third games to PC.

Scouts are by far and large the best units in the game, but the other units do have their uses
Only ever really need 1 Lancer, so just use Largo and flank tanks to crit them. Some missions need a couple, like at the start of the Batomys mission to take down the machine guns.
Engineers are like mini-scouts in use, but considering the Edelweiss should be taking fire for your other units, you need something to keep it healed
Shocktroopers are best for defensive methods. Sit them behind some sandbags and any idiots that try to rush you die
Snipers are only there if you feel like you need the extra anti-infantry help, Marina with Ultimate Accuracy and damage specc'd rifle will kill every turn

I'd balance it by making Scouts have lower HP, but deal more damage initially as a trade off. Then give Shocktroopers more mobility for a start. I'd also make their bullets always slow someone down when hit, so it's harder to rush them
Engy's are fine as is, as are Snipers. Maybe give the sniper a special ability where they can 'tag' an enemy they look at through their scope to keep their position on the map shown for the next turn, even if they move out of your sight lines
Lancers need something done to make them more useful than not at all. The handheld Mortars are nice, but I'd also maybe give them a big shield they can use in addition to firing, so that they can be used as portable cover for their team-mates too. If not, a shotgun to give them some reliable anti-infantry power.
