So, according to the latest leaked image, the next mgs game is going to take place in the jungle. Looks like we get to play as Solid Snake again, but according to the info that was released we might be playing a different character all together. Some people seem to think it's Big Boss, the guy Snake is cloned from, but the fact that they refer to snake by name in the trailer could be used as a counter argument.
Of course, this could just be a fake image and the info could be made up, but... heres whats been revealed so far-
Snake can hide in tall grass and bushes similar to the cardboard box.
He can equip camouflage at various points in the game to help blend in with the enviornment. Apparently it can shrink the enemies vision cones with good camo.
He'll have to eat in order to survive. Wild animals to be specific.
You can leap from waterfalls to evade capture.
You'll have to watch out for hazards like crocodiles and quick sand.
If you're not careful and get injured a lot, there will be a mini game of sorts where Snake performs surgery on himself.
Raiden might make an appearance? This I don't buy, since if it is taking place in the 60's, Raiden wouldn't have been born yet.
That's all I can think of at the moment, but then again, I fell for the MGS2 being released on Xbox that one magazine published for April Fools complete with mock ups like Snake fighting Ocelot in the area you fight Fatman. This is probably bs as well.

MGSV was a dogshit game. Gameplay systems present were amazing except for the fact that every single mission played exactly the same. They had so much to work with and instead laid out mission in the same way every time. Not to mention that 90% of the missions have no weight at all, rescuing some random guy from some random location.
The game didn't have a cohesive plot at all. It's as if you just play random missions, then unlock an unrelated cutscene, repeat enough times until you reach the climax of some shitty boss fight without a single ounce of creativity.

I think it's not only the open world, but the way he approached making cutscenes as well. Instead of making traditional cutscenes with the camera changing perspectives every so often to deliver interesting shots, the roaming "on one shot" camera felt somewhat lifeless and dull.
Because you can't really change focus of the shot with an approach like that, you have to compromise elsewhere. Which kind of applies to the whole game.

Those usually go for 30 bucks, IIRC (assuming that you really want to play it on the original hardware. The game can be emulated on the Wii and Wii U with homebrew).
If you get to play the multiplayer with friends, I'd say it's well worth it.
