It's the same battle system with less variety and QTEs, it's just a bit faster so you can just get the fuck done with it and get out.

Yeah, it's not as linear, that is to say it certainly isn't on rails like XIII was, but what's the point? There still isn't anything to do that's actually fun to any degree. It's not like there is an exploration aspect or a ridiculous amount of side content, and even if there was it still wouldn't be fun because XIII wasn't fun and as I mentioned before neither is XIII-2.
