The battery is literally as good (or should I say as terrible?) as a dualshock 4 controller. I've used both extensively. At least on Wii U the pro controller's battery lasts for literally 40 hours straight.

The only notable game it came out with was SM4SH. Unfortunately, it wasn't better than SSBM; so after the allure of freshness wore off, it just left players going back to melee.

Sunshine is grossly overrated, but each 3D Mario brings some major changes to the formula. 3D World's focus was playing with friends. It plays nothing like a NSMB game though, I don't know where that idea comes from - it plays like Galaxy 2.

My Wii U bricked somehow and I never cared enough to pay to get it fixed. Such bullshit how this still happens with the latest console. I didn't even get a Wii U until 2014 and I got it brand new. Never ever tried to mod it or anything like that. Barley even played it either so seems weird. I can load up the gamepad and move around fine but if I try to open any app it freezes and gives an error message. I tried looking it up and only solutions I found were the sensor in the gamepad died and pay nintendo ~$180 to fix it.

look i understand, and you have to as well. Melee is a hard game, way too hard. you need to play consistently for 2 years, Two years to be considered DECENT. I've had countless of burns in my thumbs, cramps in the index finger 3 controllers with fucked up deadzones and pains on my wrist that i had to take a pause for whole weeks. That's the thing, in order to experience what Melee has to offer as a whole, you need to make melee your lifestyle of some sort. I didnt. But almost any fighting game changes shit up and makes the gameplay different with sequels. Only KoF really doesn't. Smash is no different, the big difference is that Melefags will actively attempt to destroy anything that isn't Melee, whereas people who preferred SF3 would simply point out that they aren't fans of 4 or 5, and go back to playing 3 unless they want in on the tourney scene. You won't find Third Strike boys actively booing and hazing people at SF4 or 5 tourneys like Melefags dof for Brawl and Smash 4.
And Smash 4 persists despite it all.

L canceling was a known mechanic that popped up before the game launched. You hit L as you hit the ground after performing and air attack and it "cancels" the rest of the attack animation and leads to a quicker recovery.
Wave dashing was a known mechanic that cropped up before the game launched. It was intentional that air dodging into the ground would result in quick dash to the floor. Using directional influence from a short hop was known to turn this mechanic into a slide.
It's all shit they knew was in the game. The players figured out how to chain it all together to create a fast paced combos. None of it is a "glitch".
