Battleborn isn't even like Smite, though. It's its own thing.
Overwatch is the more simple of the two and the more popular.
Battleborn is more complex, but also less popular.
Also, you shouldn't really compare the two that much 'cause they're pretty different franchises, but, they look superficially similar, so people compare them.
Having said that, I disagree on the assertion that this implies Battleborn has better aesthetics than Overwatch, which simply isn't true. Digimon's art style is way better than Pokemon's (but Pokemon's is still great, obviously), but Battleborn's art style is worse than Overwatch's (neither is particularly great).
