No way this is in the game.
Most of the people that shit on doom 2 have horrible taste in what makes doom good.
The monster ecosystem is superior.
The weapon sandbox is superior.
The way the game dollys out ammo is superior in that it creates a more run and gun feel.
The biggest complain the game gets on/v/ is that people don't like the open city levels which is a shit complaint given that Mt. Erebus is the best level.from Doom 1

Does Doom 64 pick up after a while? I'm digging the game but the enemies are like 90% imps and hell barons, plus every stage is super tight and crampt.
Only beat a few stages though, it seemed good so far but not really on par with the first two Dooms.

I'd argue that Doom is generally more fun than HL1. HL1 did a lot of really neat things but Doom just has awesome maps and makes you fight against a shitton of demon's all at once.

Doom 1 had the best level design. Doom 2 had the SSG and maybe like 10 good levels. Doom 64 has great atmosphere but ugly monster sprites. Plutonia is good, but incredibly hard and TNT is all over the place quality wise.

Welp, played the first 2 levels of brutal doom and I must say its pretty fun. It seems that the developer has a hard on for putting enemies around corners though. Slightly annoying but I guess it makes it harder.
