I'm gonna buy a Vita. Is there anything I should know?

Also what's the deal with this 3G stuff? Do I have to buy a phone plan for it?

3g was one of the 2 original models, had no use in my opinion.

Never needed a phone for anything Vita-related.

You're gonna be broke as fuck in June and July. Atelier Sophie, Leiftreiser, Zero Time Dilemma... None are exclusives but I'll tell you what the Vita is comfy as fuck to play on.

Oh thank god. I vaguely remember hearing about some kind of phone shit way back when it first came out.

Is there any reason I shouldn't buy used?

Nah, I don't think so. I bought used as well, although I got a hell of a deal from it. The Vita, a 64 gb card, an 8 gb card and P4G for 200 flat.

Buying used will give you more money to get a card or two online, since those aren't the cheapest things around.

I usually dodnt buy systems used, but if you can get a good deal on it I'd say go for it. Just make sure the thumb stucks arent sticking on you where you are permanently moving forward or any other direction and the touch screen responds well.

The 3G is completely useless. Was a good idea but too soon to use that kind of technology. Also Partnering with AT&T was also a bad idea.

For laughs just listen at the announcement.

You can buy a 3g Vita and not use the 3g at all. it's like any other Vita just a few grams heavier and has a sim slot.

3G plans were sold by AT&T(Announcement of this at E3 got them boo'd on the stage funnily enough) and from what I remember it was a mess trying to use Wi-Fi in conjunction, it was pretty laggy, and it was expensive. Don't think you can actually buy the plan anymore, my Vita is one of the 3G model and all it has is an extra SIM slot on it to facilitate that need but it's not required, it's a completely separate setting in the Settings bubble if I remember right.

If you are buying used make sure of three things:
Screen doesn't have a scratch. I have one tiny one on mine that can only be seen from a certain angle when I remember it exists and it drives me completely bonkers and the device came like that.
Make sure the sticks work, some people sell them with awful deadzones or they're just stuck in positions at times.
Make sure at least the front touch screen works. The back one is basically treated as a button press since not a single company outside of Media Molecule know how to use the damn thing, so that's not something you should be worried about.

A good chunk of people buy them used anyway, and they're usually sold more or less in brand new condition since people didn't use them much.

OLED goes dim through time (it naturally decays since it has organic material) Just try it out and make sure it's bright enough to see in normal light. You might see some splotches in the dark but that is normal for early OLED screens like the Vita (2010 manufacturing technology) Still an excellent screen

>that shillclap

Either Sonyggers are the dumbest fuckers alive, or Sony pays at least a quarter of those people to clap on queue.

The only issue with my used Vita is burn-ins.
So I just knew the previous owner loved watching porn.
Luckily the OLED is such a fantastic screen, the burn-ins are noticeable outside of dark shaded areas.
