There are game challenges created by other weirdos that play sims. Like Legacy challenge, Asylum challenge, 100 babies challenge and shit like that.
I just created a town with sims I liked and rotate my play between them. I guess it stopped being fun because I haven't touched the game for a couple of months.

Playing as yourself will only depress you or make you quit the game because every single one of us is a boring piece of shit. If you're gonna create yourself you gotta let it go around the neighbourhood without being controlled by you, like a random townie that is you.
Create waifus/husbandos and play as them, I don't know. Anything, just made up characters that you might end up liking.
I think that's the trick, I've seen people recreate older sims they had created from previous games. Like they transitioned from their sims 2 versions to the sims 3 version and now the sims 4 version, it's crazy but I actually envy them for being able to do that.

It does depress me because in the game I'm a sociable and romantically successful guy, while in reality I get little to no socializing, have no friends and am a kissless virgin.
Making an NPC version of yourself sounds interesting. Can the game make decisions for him in that case, or is it just walking around town and going to work?

As far as I know, Sims 4 doesn't have the story progression thing that Sims 3 had. It was pretty shit without the mod that fixed it anyway. So you'd just see your sim walking down the street, at bars, maybe the gym, maybe at work if you got the expansion pack. Just another background character.
However, Sims 4 has a mod that enables some kind of story progression, pretty similar to the mod that fixed the one for Sims 3. So you can get your simself get married and shit with that I think.

Alright then, this was the first time I played. (Besides one doctor who died the first night because I was absolute shit at the game)
Anyway,

I make sure the homes match the homes of the character in the game. I had the p3 mc become best buds with micheal from gta and then steal his wife so it was a fun time.
Sims 4 has the best asses.

I just had a really long playthrough of a Sim that I kept alive through those life stage resetting potions so he'd always be an Adult but He would always have a child with his Great Granddaughter and I was able to keep this cycle going until he had about 15 children and it was pretty neat seeing the little family tree/genealogy thing show a Sim at the bottom of a branch and at the top of the next branch.

When I found out that you could run your own business in Sims 4, I decided I wanted to start my own porn store.
Then after several weeks of searching I realized the only salable sex objects for download that weren't locked behind paywalls were really poorly made dragon dildos and boxes of condoms.
Really killed my enthusiasm. I haven't played since.

yup, it was pretty fun. It was neat to see my family begin to look like other sims for a generation or 2 and then get a resurgence of my Sim's genetics.
Eventually I would just place a copy of my sim into the household to knock up any Daughters or grand daughters and feed him to that one giant plant to keep my original sim young.
Basically he was feeding clones of himself to a giant plant to keep himself young and keep his family line pure until a great granddaughter was born and he could begin a new family branch.
