Later on the grind gets annoying.
If you do every quest in the game, you get about 250 million exp. Max level needs 1.1 billion exp, so you still need 850 million exp to hit max level through grinding.
10 million exp an hour is the most you'll ever get through grinding. More realistically you can expect about 6 million an hour. So you can expect 140+ hours of raw grinding provided you've got a decent party and uncontested grinding spots.

That's exactly what Ragnarok was. It had no quests, all experience was gained through mob grinding. I remember farming mobs near the cap level that gave me so little exp that the experience number didn't even move, aka it was less than 0.01% per mob.

Grinding was fun though. Every maps had their own "ecology" with good xp mobs, good drops mobs, aggressive mobs, trashy mobs, elemental weak mobs, mobs with different skills and spells etc...ToS is just like WoW where every monster is the same except for 2-3 categories ("mage", "ranged"). The game places a xp penalty just to force you out of the map and trick you into thinking you're not killing the very same monsters with different skin/level until max level.

My main issue is the soundtrack isn't as good as the previous games the guy has worked on. Granado Espada's soundtrack was actually a step up from Ragnarok Online's even though it was less consistent has had unnecessary vocals on some maps.
