Adding on to this, I've never liked how they turned the hidden blade into a weapon you could quite comfortably use in combat. In AC1, all you could do with it in combat was counter, the timing was hella tight compared to the other weapons, but the payoff was that it was always an instant kill. The assassins in the movie seem to be using their hidden blades to legitimately fight, which I don't like.
I'm getting the feeling that they gave him weapons because they are trying to train him in the real world so he can better sync with his past self in the animus.
Could be giving the movie too much credit though.

Well, there's a shitload of pretty high guard towers with riflemen. Also, thanks to the blue he wasn't so easy to spot on the horizon of the roofs, which, mind you, weren't exactly flat, and often had nearly vertical parts.
Also I feel like the blue/red/white colors were just there to give him the look of the french flag.

Of course, Syndicate did do some pretty neat things, like auto-looting people when assassinating them, and the various perks were fun too, but holy fuck you got overpowered first.
Assassin's Creed desperately needs difficulty options. I love the series, but it's so casual it hurts. Why not just give some optional settings to increase guard hp/damage, sight range, etc. Customizable difficulty is god-tier

I love how absolutely no one in this fucking trailer is wearing white. How do you fuck up something so basic?
Also what's the point of the sci fi bullshit? It kind of made sense in the games because you were playing them, but it doesn't make sense in a movie. Are we going to watch a guy watching a guy? Is he actually going to be in control? What's even going on? And it really looks like they're going for the "pshh, nothing personal kid" angle instead of making cool fights, but I guess we can't tell that for sure in the trailer.
Still this just looks bad.
