-Ghouls is faster, and you can shoot in any direction
-Super is slower, but you can double jump, weapons are better balanced, and game is longer

I actually prefer Ghosts 'n Goblins Arcade. Ghouls level design isn't as good and Super is plagued with slowdowns throughout.
The psp remake, especially the rebalanced version that never got out of japan
