What was with this room? Years later and it still creeps the shit out of me.
>That music
How are the secret boots meant to work here if he's just going to be the same height sitting down anyway?

yfw you realize Dracula hates Christianity because his wife died the same way Jesus did and hates the idea that Lisa's killers could be forgiven
>>337300018
>Dracula hates Christianity because his wife died the same way Jesus did
It's like poetry.
shit like this is what made SOTN great
just all these weird little details that made the game feel alive
>>337300154
IIRC it's the only room that if you pause, the music still plays on the pause screen.
>>337298935
if you have a fairy and sit there, she sings in jap version.
theres also another secret there i think
>Castlevania will forever be a dead series
I'm trying to find Castlevania bloodline somewhere cheap. it ain't easy. i wish they'd just release it digitally
>>337300249
The Master Librarian's room does the same thing.
>>337300018
I always wondered why Dracula keeps putting chapels in his castles.
>>337300018
>Dracula hates Christianity
Then why does he have church on his castle? Checkmate atheist
>>337300563
>HD on Steam never
>>337300740
Same reason he keeps hiding meat in the walls: old habits die hard.
>>337300563
Well there's Bloodstained when it comes out, but i've been cautious with all things kickstarter.
>>337300740
>>337300864
they're old, he has it their because he was a crusader who served god, only to find his wife dead and felt betrayed. Then his second wife got murdered and solidified his hate.
Also he keeps religious artifacts around the castle to keep some of his servants from getting too powerful, why else do you think the protagonists find holy water and crosses everywhere
>>337301009
How the fuck do you make SotN in HD? There's no way without making it look like dogshit.
>>337300018
>>337300740
>>337300864
He hates Christianity, but still acknowledges the Lord.
Seems like a double checkmate to me.
>>337301234
I recall reading somewhere that the candles represent souls trapped in Dracula's castle or something and when you whip them you free the soul, and the heat/item they drop is a thank you from the departing soul
dont remember where i read that though
>>337301240
Plus it already looks really good.
>>337301234
>>337301482
That still doesn't explain the meat in the walls...
>>337300563
>Castlevania bloodline
For what purpose? Can you not use a romcart?
I'm interested in this.
>>337301623
Gotta have something to wash down with that holy water
>>337301623

>>337301234
>>337301482
Well don't you faggots stop now. Keep dropping that delicious lore
>>337301796
Well sometimes the meat is also in candles... somehow.
>>337301704As you can see, this is a playstation black disc. Cut number one contains computer data, so please don't play it. But you probably heard this in my voice, didn't you?
>>337301482
Found a source for this.

>>337300740
Wouldn't be a proper castle without a chapel.
>>337300740
He probably doesn't have a choice if you go by that whole thing of Castlevania itself being an entity of chaos which is why it changes layouts every so often.
>>337300740
It demonstrates his unholy power. The power of God is supposed to exterminate and ward off monsters, but Dracula is too powerful for that shit to actually work absolutely. So, he puts chapels in his castle to illustrate his utter resistance to God.
>that hallway where you can see out the windows into the surrounding forest with giant eyeballs floating around
for some reason i really liked that
>>337301843
cooking meat is a good thing
>tfw nobody believed me when this happened to me

>>337301704
He he! Thank you!
>>337303716
that freaked me out the first time
I'm playing SotN for the first time, and its my first Castlevania. Its amazing. Just got my double jump. This game's sprite work is amazing. Still prefer Super Metroid to SotN though. SM has better movement options (so far).
for other castlevania's to play, i have CotM, AoS, DoS, PoR, and OoE. Am I missing anything?
>maria: i'm looking for rictor
>alucard thinks of NES Castlevania III sprite

>>337305273
Goddamn it...
Why the castle assorted creatures are pissed about Alucard having "betrayed" them?
They didn't lift a finger to save his mother either.
>>337301009
