Even assuming the Vulkan shit is played in fast forward and it's only as fast as the PS4 leaks, it's at least much faster than most modern FPS's and the map layouts we've seen so far are similarly more complex than the current corridor shooter approach. SO the original doom, on the hardware available at the time, did not "run fast". It ran modestly, because most people did not have the hardware to properly run it. If you want the actual "doom experience", you need to get a computer from that time and run it. Doom only became "fast" because computers became faster and the engine was built well enough to accommodate that power.

So this guy is using a set of perks that are made for speed. That's why this vid seems faster than all the other gameplay. As someone who studies the industry, I can tell you right now the assholes behind this game most likely have no experience as a lot of the more experienced game designers have transitioned to other media or just other jobs in general, leaving starry eyed juniors behind with no god damned idea what their doing.
