Why is everyone assuming that means it'll be a generic TPS? If anything, I think it means the opposite. He's just trying to reassure the press that it won't be so outlandish as to alienate the AAA crowd. If anything, I think it points to the game being "Kojima" enough to necessitate that kind of PR move.

he was referring to level format. division and uncharted are tps with both hubs and linear levels. they're both shit games but linear/hub structure is preferable to open world. that's all he's saying. I'm sure the new kojima game will be a fairly standard tps with a couple neat gimmicks and an interesting aesthetic with a hub/linear level structure. optimism at 70%.
To be honest, I'm not gonna give a shit about any Kojima product unless it's related to Silent Hills.
