All are amazing except for MGSV which is only good at best. The enemy AI is very inconsistent in MGSV and the developers attempted to fix this by adding an optional lock on to alerted enemy's head mode. This leaves the player with either poor AI or crappy modernized gameplay.

After the disappointment wore off I quite liked this game
It's tied with MGS4 for weakest mainline MGS game, but I feel like "weakest MGS game" isn't saying much since they're still pretty great
Main problem is Kojima took a risk and tried something he'd never done before and it backfired somewhat, there's a reason companies play it safe and keep putting out the same shit over and over

It's a bad game even if you separate it from the rest of the series. Regular games require planning or timing, this one you just have to keep low. Because of the way the game is designed, you're just crawling around a bunch of tents and other small obstacles the entire time. Not to mention all the cut, unfinished, and poorly thought out content.

I feel like you're mistaking disappointment and being underwhelming with being bad. Relatively speaking, yes, it's bad compared to some other games, but relativity isn't objectivity. You've said that planning and timing is important, which MGSV apparently doesn't involve by your reckoning, but I'm fairly sure planning and timing were pretty integral to the entire concept. Saying that "you're just crawling around a bunch of tents and small obstacles" is a basic summary of how MGS gameplay has worked since day one.
As for the cut, unfinished and "poorly thought out" content, I'll concede that those are bad aspects that detract from the game, but at worst they only contribute to the sense of disappointment. They don't make the game bad as a whole.

Rising was fun but it was a Platinum game through and through, it was a piss-weak Metal Gear game. Portable Ops was just laughable in every respect except gameplay, which was just stripped down MGS3 plus DRAG TO THE VAN: THE GAME.
