Would buying 8 and 10 be worth it if I've never played a ff game aside from dissidia before?
I'm interested because two of the characters i liked came from those.

This game is one of the worst, if not THE worst final fantasy game i've ever played. Not even gonna get into the awful gameplay thats padded to hell and back.
The entire plot is equaly retarded as it is cringey. Summons are worthless aside from 1 fight, party comp meens nothing after getting rikku. Im glad square fixed their mistakes after this pile of garbage

I think 8 and 10 are both weak entries, but 10 at least has solid gameplay and its characters and story aren't all that bad. 8's big problems are that the game is super easy to break wide open because of some weird ass mechanic choices, and it has a few points where the story very clearly goes full retard.
