>The prologue you played through happened hundreds/thousands of years before the main game
>>337238005
> game begins with a playable epilogue
> you then play through the series of events that led you there

nier?
Most recent game that did that shit? Dragon's Dogma.
>>337238005
"Thousands of years ago....."
>You play through the game
>The last chapter repeats the beginning of the game again
>>337239057
what game?
>The final boss theme is the vocal version of the game's title theme
>>337239215
MGSV if the most recent example I can remember
>The prologue you played through happened hundreds/thousands of years AFTER the main game
>>337239324
>The final boss theme is an instrumental version of the kick-ass lyrical title theme
>Prologue is the ending to the sequel.
>>337239409
Nier?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVTtMMr-cj8
>beat final boss
>final-final boss comes out
>beat final-final boss
>final-final-final boss comes out
>>337238005
>Your playing as your ancestor in the tutorial
>>337239914
Niers prologue is in the past by thousands of years
>The ending is the MC having his last dream as he awaits death.
>>337239215
Prototype if my memory servers me right.
>>337238005
>The prologue can open doors
>MC "dies"
>post-credits scene hints at his survival
>>337244613
>sequel never
>The epilogue is the 2nd half of the prologue
>>337244925
Started TLR 3 times, never finished it
It's the sidequests that kill the game for me
>you get to play as the final boss at the very beginning
The best thing
>the events in the prologue are unexplained until the end of the game
>>337245519
It's one of my favorite "post PS2" JRPGs, but I will definitely say I completely understand why so many people are turned off of it. For me the sidequests were great, but I'm a huge sucker for worldbuilding and banter.
>epilogue takes place in the past
>game starts with dyingfinal boss
>>337238193
Fucking call of duty big red one did that
10/10 game tho
>>337238005
>the prologue you happens before evolution and shows apes' discovery of weapons
>Events in the prologue are actually the main character's dying hallucinations at the end of the game
>>337238005
>the prologue is much better than the actual gameIt hurts
>>337246354
>Brutal Legend
>>337238193
>Band of Brothers: Road to Hill 30
>>337246327Not sure game what they're talking about, but Nier definitely has "the prologue is playing as the final boss."
>>337246330
I'm still mad.
>>337245557
The prologue IS the end of the game.
>prologue has no relevance to the entire game
>epilogue is
a DLC
>epilogue is the post-game
>>337244190
Terranigma was a great game, anon.
>You thought you've finally beaten the game after hours of gameplay, find out you've just completed the prologue
>>337246327
The best game.
>>337238193
Prototype, it's also a good way to do the whole "stripped of power" thing.
>>337244613
That actually sucks though.
>Bought new game back home after a long hard day
>Only have about an hour left for game before bed time
>Opening cut scenes is an hour long
>The prologue is the only part that actually happens
>The entire rest of the game is a coma dream
>>337248140
Final Fantasy?
>>337248396
American McGee's Alice?
>The game claims to be "based on real events"
>>337238193
Metro
>>337245775
I hated having to look when new ones opened each time out of fear of them becoming missable.
That and inability to accept more quests at once
>>337248626
>Final Fantasy
Which one? Because if it's X, you misunderstood
>>337238229
i love you
>>337248626
>American McGee's Alice?
Black Ops 3
>>337238005
>the second game is the journey that led up to the prologue of the first game
>TO BE CONTINUED!
>Literal next mission gives a recap of what you just did and continues off immediately from where you left off
>Game does this twice
>game starts with a 5 minute gameplay segment
>then a 15 minutes unskippable intro cutscene
>playing through game
I kinda understand where this is going
>get to the end
Holy shit this plot is fucking retarded
>Games secret movie ending shows characters who you've never seen fighting in the past.
>>337250306
>killing a child
Unless Jon is not all there in the head Jonfags are delusional as fuck. This is like when Stannis burned his heir because of the 400 year old witches advice
>>337250596
>he was just a kid, dindu nuffin.
Shireen was pure and innocent.
