Ignore it? It looks incredibly lame. There are no games on VR I want to play, and I won't pay half a horse for the equipment. I don't see the point in riding a horse in Mount and Blade with a VR headset anyway when I can just look at my screen.

I had a friend with the OR DK1, and I own a DK2 myself, and they are amazing. For short periods of time. In "games" which are little more than tech demos.
VR is a neat gimmick for people that can blow money on it at the moment, but it'll be nothing more than the gimmick until a few things happen.
One, 4k with high FPS support.
Two, a way to completely remove the screen door effect.
Three, wireless headset. Whether that be some form of backpack with a 4k laptop stuck in it, or some new technology that allows 4k streaming to the VR headset without need for wires at all, you need that freedom of mobility.
And Four, which goes with Three, full body tracking. Which is actually currently technologically possible, just not economically feasible.
Without those things it's just a toy to have a few minutes of fun with until you start feeling motion sick or get bored of playing the tech demos, sorry, "games" available. It really is just wagglan 2.0.
VR focused games are just Wii shovelware shit, the stupid controllers and sensors are completely unnecessary. If anything, it will only be worth for having a more immersive experience in regular games.

I don't mean to start console war shit but proper vr is expensive as fuck and a 970 barely makes the cut powering it.
I'm actually worried all the casuals will try it through solely gimmicky Sony thing, that's exclusively for a few psmove games and think its shit so real vr can't sell when it becomes consumer friendly

There are no games because it is new, expensive and not common equipment.
They will be cheaper, more people will get them, there will be more content because of this, and because we will find better uses for it, etc.

I was really ready to upgrade my computer and get myself a vive this year but after consideration I think I'm just going to wait a few years.

Obviously, it's not exactly the arm tracking I'm concerned about. It's just amazing how ridiculously fast this technology is developing. Every few weeks some new feature is developed and makes it even better. It's like smart phones all over again.
So yea, I think I'm just going to wait for the technological advances to plateau like they currently seem to be in the smartphone department before I pick up a vr headset. Maybe wait until the first wireless model or something
