Who is the best starter and why is it Popplio?

I was thinking in getting Moon version but after seeing its legendary Pokémon is a shit i would bet I'm going to end up getting Sun version.

We don't know enough about standard wild Pokemon version exclusives yet for me to make a concrete decision. I'm sort of leaning towards the ridiculous moon bat but a legend that I'll catch and box immediately isn't enough basis to decide. I like Rowlet the most out of the starters, but evolutions can easily change that.
