Never played it before. Is it worth it?

It's a pretty arcade-y take on the hack&slash genre, it's good and extremely polished like most blizzard games. Haven't played since a few months after release though.
>>
I was bothered by how easy it was. You need to play it on the max available difficulty for it to not be boring. But then you unlock the further difficulties and the enemies just get more health. I dunno, maybe I'm just not into diablo style games anymore. Couldn't vent finish pah of exile.

For what it's worth, the first play through was interesting in that you could try out all our different spells and whatnot. I got the game on sale and I don't regret my purchase, but I wasn't able to play it much more after completing the campaigns.

Yes, its fun for 10-15$, not more. But only for 2 or 3 runs, if you want more you NEED the extension.

This is literally point and click.
>>
Only if you get it with the Reaper of Souls expansion, but I don't think Blizzard even sells the game without it anymore.

the difficulty scaling is fucking weird and idk how they think it's fine desu

No it isn't

Not him but I couldn't get into it because it was too damn easy. Played with a friend for 6 hours on the hardest available difficulty and it was still brain-dead
>>
No, it's pretty fucking boring. I definitely enjoyed myself for like 20-40 hours but it's left a bad taste in my mouth.
>>
Get the console version if you can. Offline mode, couch coop, gifting, trading, nemesis invasions, same day as PC updates, arguably better controls for most classes.

It is great to just play with a group of friends, but if you are rxpecting the depth of othet games in the genre, you will be disappointed.
>>
Play Exiles instead. Diablo 3 has no customization or thought. For some reason everyone thought it would be a good idea to take the RPG part out of the third entry of their ARPG.
>>
I know it's not diablo but how's Grim Dawn?

>play obscure euro Diablo clone

lol don't do this either, OP.

Fag.

Just don't bother playing any of these games. If you play any of the games play grim dawn.
>>
Best ARPG right now is Grim Dawn, hands down.

Diablo 3 is fun, but lacks any depth. And I've probably about 500-600 hours in it.

Play Diablo II

play it only if you like the action part more than the rpg part.
it's a great action game with satisfying animations and spells, but if you want an actual skill tree and not some fucking cod-level progression system just play Grim Dawn.

I think it's gotten better since launch, I tried making a new character for this season and the progression feels smoother and less grindy. You can pretty much faceroll Master difficulty while leveling, and probably go to Torment 1/2 once you get decent gear. If you play a Season character you'll get a free set of gear when you get to level 70 and complete a few challenges, which makes getting into endgame stuff easier.

That said, the basic difficulty formula is still more health/more damage on enemies, but I think the mix of enemies have enough interesting abilities to make it fun. Trying to build a skillset around your current gear is fun for me as well, but it's definitely not so much an RPG as a hacknslash with a lot of abilities to choose from.

its alright, im not too far in but it feels more exciting than d3

the genre is called hack&slash. ARPG is a huge genre that includes titles like the witcher and dragon's dogma
