which part are you referring to exactly?
the evil within wasn't especially scary, but it certainly was good at making extremely tense moments

Nemesis in RE3.
I don't know why I played the game when I was 7 years old. The game gave me nightmares several months later.
The bear

This was the best Spiderman game ever made, and the best depiction and voice of Venom ever. Still remember the chase scene.

The Pyramid head chase with James and Maria in SH2. That's the only game with a chase scene that takes place in a tiny, weirdly built hallway that doesn't make me angry, just tense thinking that he's going to hit me.
>>337210603
Man, I only played the first level of that game but that chase was probably one of the scariest moments I've had in games

Glad I'm not the only one. It was actually about to be the first game I would have beaten, but I couldn't get past him in time before we had to return it. Just didn't think much about it after that.
>>337213402
>26
>old
wow, it really HAS come to this, hasn't it?
Not so much challenging or intense, but the first encounter with Lagiacrus in MH Tri made me shit my pants.
Just swimming along hunting some plesiosaurs when this fuckhuge water dragon starts chasing my ass. Doesn't help that I had to psych myself up to even enter the water in the first place.

Not really that, it's just that I'm in my early 20s and I think that you're retarded if you think >30 is an oldfag

That game just throws you through a fucking gauntlet out of nowhere.

The scariest chase is in Megaman Legends (Monster Hunter's predecessor.)
You walk through dungeons looking for parts (to make new gear) with the ocassional enemy here and there.
If you go through the dungeons long enough you end up in a square shaped room that looks empty. So you walk around and out of nowhere the first boss in the game makes a comeback and runs at you.
That game has a lot of 'WTF was that' moments, the chase is just completely unexpected.
fuck this guy
the blood and the dissected gecko in the background didn't help either
Condemned 2, the fucking bear chase.
>>337210090
I just thought that chase sequence was sort-of funny. Here I am, in a hedge, being chased by a giant amputee and his dogs. What? Sounds like some kooky folk story, not badass vampire hunter v badass vampire. The combat side being just frustrating rather than genuinely risky compounded this further.
As a kid, I was more scared of the dragon serpent things atop the towers in the wall. I didn't know what they were when I saw them from a distance, but they were pulsing and undulating and big, and I didn't dare get close to them. Fear doesn't work like how a team of random Konami devs think it works.

I wandered around the mansion for a long time hoping there would be another path than the hedge maze. I feel like it was months, but considering how time works when you're a kid it could've been a week.

Oh fuck this brings back memories. Would've been a great game without the ridiculous boss fights.

This makes me laugh in retrospect. Games somehow haven't changed in their levels of humor. In the moment, I was scared as FUCK, but looking at that screenshot and seeing, "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!" is funny. Three exclamation points is the type of grammar that all your base are belong to us was.
This robot scared the hell out of me for some reason.
