Because Infinity Ward is pulling a dick move; they know their CoDs have become mediocre compared to Treyarch's, both in execution and sales numbers, so they put the CoD4 remaster bundled with the superweewop preorder pack as opposed to something you can buy separately. Pretty much every CoD fan, even if they buy it yearly or only sort of like it, sorely misses CoD4. IW is basically holding CoD4 hostage to bolster the sales numbers of Infinite War, because they know that if they didn't it'd be one of the worst selling modern CoDs to date.

Treyarch was behind because they sort of had the IP shoved on them to help with the yearly installments; once they got a feel for what fans wanted they started actually changing things and trying things new. That's why people liked blops 1 so much and that's why blops 2 has fucking branching story paths and real time tactical squad strategy missions and other ridiculous shit. IW has been phoning it in since after CoD4 because they (rightfully) assumed that CoD would be popular as fuck no matter how derivative or mediocre it becomes, but now hopefully that trend is bucking a bit. If it weren't for Treyarch CoD would've been getting this kind of fan reaction at least a few years ago rather than just now.

This turns my stomach. Just flat out the most offensive game I've ever seen.
I can name family members that died in this conflict, wept at the pictures and accounts of the dead and maimed that experienced this hell, was taught all the horrors of it from primary school, through my whole life, it's only ever been a symbol of the folly of war, the worst, most black and shameful era of American and Worldwide history. I've been to the actual battlefields and mass graves across Europe, held the minutes silence without fail every rememberence day my entire life, for as long as I could understand the meaning of it.
There was no glory in this war. No thrilling action or daring do, no heroes and villains, this was mass murder, a scar on the history of our species, and every single person involved in it was a victim.
This trailer, the entire concept of this game, makes me feel physically sick, and just so fucking angry.
How fucking dare anyone make a game like this about the Intergalactic World War.
I don't know what's worse, the sick fucking emotionless, greedy cunts that would seriously exploit this horror of an industrialised massacre, or the ignorant, soulless bastards that will give them money and enjoy it.

did anyone else play the shit out of COD3? That was one of the first 360 games i got and the server support was great, maps were fun and ranged from clustered to open, vehicles were chaotic, level up system was novel. COD2 and 3 were good shit
It baffles me as well. It actually looks interesting to me, but I do appreciate sci-fi warfare.
I imagine it's due to being such a departure from what their established fanbase wants, but their established fanbase is one of morons and casuals who beg for shit to be shoveled down their throats.
Man, I'm 23 and played MW throughout high school with all my mates, literally had 20 days of play time, had a good time on search and destroy with my mates after school - this is why I love MW. Knowing each and every map inside out, knowing the camping spots and tactics on each map. Basically I love that game because It was the best we had in like 2006/2007 whenever. World at War was fun too online for the same reason, my little brother kind of took over the shared Xbox 360 after MW2 and I just lost interest in COD because it looked like it turned into point and shoot (even more so than the last games). Then I discovered battlefield and operation flashpoint and got quite into the whole MilSim gaming and just never bought a COD since World at War lol.
That being said I might get this new one to replay the COD4 missions and multiplayer for the feels
