Yogventures was really something else.
Their dev team consisted of a small handful of guys fresh out of game design school who had never made a real game before, and about half a million in cash for the budget, all for a game that was too big for even a proper studio with millions to spend.
First off, they apparently "forgot" to sign the people on the team to any sort of contract, so a lot of them just bailed the moment they got paid and never did any work. Then a huge chunk of the money was given to the Yogscast guys (I want to say a couple hundred thousand) who were supposed to use it to hire a lead programmer since the team didn't have one. Obviously, they disappeared with the cash, never hired anyone, and never said another word about it.
After a while the "team" had essentially boiled down to one guy who was spending every waking moment on it. The stress from it apparently ruined his marriage and nearly lost him his job.
Then the whole thing got cancelled, the Yogscast guys said "we're not responsible, we don't have to do jack shit", and then just handed out some keys to steam games to anyone who backed it instead.

I nearly donated to MN9 because I'm a big Mega Man fan but decided against it and boy am I glad about that.

If something that comes out of Kickstarter is good, I'll buy it when it releases, which I've wound up never doing for any of these "old washed up has-beens trying to reclaim their careers by making a clone of the game that made them famous". That's factually wrong. Mikami left Capcom in 2004 after finishing RE4 and had NOTHING to do with the PS2 version, which wasn't even developed by Production Studio 4. He did work for Clover, but the only REs Clover worked on were Umbrella Chronicles and RE4.5.
