Disney Infinity was never really my thing. But I recently watch hours of Toy Box Tuesday when I sick with a fever.
And I have to say that I am surprised at how fun it actually looked. I am still not into the whole collectible figure thing that's required. But it legitimately looked like a genuine game. I haven't tried it for myself, but it almost looked like it could be an actually fun game. Provided you aren't limited by a lack of figures of course that is.

Every aspect of it was really polished. It's a shame it never got recognition for what it was.
They had a Smash Bros mode with Marvel, Mario Kart mode made by the devs of Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing, a randomly generated Diablo mode. Extremely deep customization features. And the combat was just revamped in the most recent game to have legitimate depth by Ninja Theory.
And to top it all off the playsets an story modes were actually good and not half-assed.
All of this combined with a genuine love for everything Disney to even the most niche shit. I'm talking like Hitchiking Ghost, Launchpad McQuack, Mr. Toad and Chernabog sidekicks.
These people loved Disney and it showed. But you know billions aren't enough they need trillions.

Best part about the Mario Kart expansion is you could use any vehicles they had in the game. Lightcycles, the Bedknobs & Broomsticks Bed, Electric Mayhem's Bus, the Dumbo or Caterpillar from the rides at Disneyland, the Pizza Planet Truck, a surfboard with Stitch on the front hanging 10, Darkwing Duck's Ratcatcher, Headless Horseman's Horse, Mr. Toad's Car. Ridiculous amount of options.

the reason MvC2 had suck a fuck-huge roster was that it was almost all re-used assets from the other games they'd already developed. Children of the Atom, X-Men vs Street Fighter, Street Fighter Alpha, Darkstalkers, the first Marvel vs Capcom, etc.
If you want them to pull a 50-character roster out of their ass in one try, it's gonna look like KoF14 or Smash4 in terms of individual quality of models.

Disney is protective about characters from its different properties interacting with one another for some reason. And with support for Disney Infinity being ended, it's only a matter of time before the Toy Box servers are gonna be shut down and all the custom-built levels lost forever - the Toy Box being the one mode where you weren't limited in what characters you could use.
