Will a regular party (no powergaming, no camping every two minutes, no min/maxing and so on) even have a chance against SCS Irenicus or SCS ToB content?
Fighting for example against SCS Vampires in Bodhi's Lair (Chapter 3) was A SERIOUS PAIN IN THE ASS, because I was not allowed to camp between every fight (because it does not make sense) + the Vampires have been buffed up to ridiculous levels.
I do like some challenges that SCS brings to the game, but some of them are just plain stupid (Clay Golems).

I manage to do it with my assasin. You just have to know what you will be facing and prepare for it. For example i bought a lot of restoration scrolls before bodhi's lair and casted negative energy protection on my casters so i managed fine. Backstabs also work on these fuckers so better use it. Also remember about every anti undead spell you know. They help a lot.
If you play on EE you can use Dorn to tank since blackguards are immune to level drain.

SoD had enemy spawn size scaled to difficultity. If you played on insane the ammount of enemies on map was big to the level of being annoying and computer liked to cheat. I actually enjoyed the most the part how to kill these enemies while having a 3 mage party.
So I'm currently playing BG1 with TuTu and the game is horribly laggy (as in dropping in frames) every time I move my party, which is basically all the time. I have somehow managed to beat Mulahey earlier, but now that I have reached Gnoll Stronghold, it seems that the game just can't handle all of that space, making it almost unplayable. Right now I'm tinkering with graphics and switching to fullscreen and changing resolution to 800x600 - while it slightly helped, the game is still slowing down when there are enemies nearby.
I'm wondering if anybody here had similar problems and could help a poor anon out?

Just did and it certainly helped a lot. I can still feel stuttering when fighting (8 gnolls on the screen made that) but I'll take anything at this point. I've also tried running 800x600 windowed and it also reduced the issue, but didn't remove it completely.

I don't think I'll bother playing through it again.
A couple of the magic items are pretty cool that get transferred over, if that's where that OP 3 mirror images a day ring comes from I don't remember.
In any case starting BG2 a level higher and just generally having to deal with the blandness of the SoD story... eh I don't think I'll play through it again.
