If anything this is the one that cripple the Xbone, that makes it impossible for dev to apply AA to 1080 rendering simply because this SRAM is too small for that.
This SRAM is usefull for applying AA and offload a lot of bottleneck that most GPU have if they use the GPU memory.
SRAM is also the reason why Xbox 360 generally have better performance when it comes to multiplat compared to PS3.
But they really shot themselves in the foot when they choose this over a better GPU.

Xbox is like the 970 but with 32 MB of really fast and 8 GB of slower DDR3 memory.
PS4 has a unified 8 GB GDDR5 memory.
This actually makes the PS4 easier to optimise for. The extra GPu power helps as well.
