Is No Man's Sky real? It seems like it's too good to be true, something's gonna suck right?

Yes
No
>>337097628
Of course. There's no way it's as described.
Play starbound and you will see how no mans sky will fail
>>337097809
what made starbound fail?
>>337097628
you don't wonder why it has been delayed for over 2 years?
>>337097878
to mkae it really good?
>>337097628
the issue with no mans sky is that it is going to be very boring
itll be a worthwhile novelty first few hours but after that its doubtful that anyone will pick it up for more than an hour or two every couple of weeks

Lack of development updates really.
it's going to be 3D starbound with worse combat and no crafting/building.
You're literally just going to go from recolored planet to recolored planet, walk around, and do it again.
Enjoy!
No Man's Sky feels like it's taking one of the biggest problem with modern open world game design (fuckhuge environments with nothing to fucking do in them) and cranking it up to 11. I really don't understand the hype for this shit at all.

Basically what happens with every hype: selective PR presentation and wording + the inability of the general audience to a) see through PR speak and b) grasp the underlying concepts.
No Man's Sky's hype proves that people are massively impressed by huge numbers, regardless of what they represent, and that they don't truly understand that the word "unique" in combinatorics doesn't necessarily mean "interesting" or "worthwhile".
