He is a less effective Tracer that can reach more places.
Tracer has really good damage and can flank squishies really well, but there are lots of sniping areas that she just can't get to because she has no vertical movement beyond jumping.
Genji can take out squishies, but it takes more effort, better aim and more ability use for damage, but he can flank better than her with his wall climb and double jump, as well as get up to some places that tracer can't.

it's 28 damager per star, 56 on a headshot. If you can aim, he does amazing damage. he also has some of the best mobility in the game, reflect and an ult that can do a lot of damage in a short time.
But he is probably one of the hardest to play properly, because his left click can be pretty hard to consistently hit thanks to the delay between stars.

I enjoy playing these two characters, but I feel genuine embarrassment when I do. One is a weebshit fantasy and the other is an Edge Maverick wet dream. I feel like Reaper is meant to be satirical, but they didn't quite push it far enough. However it seems like the devs actually think Genji is a cool character and he isn't meant to be a joke at all, which is cringeworthy on it's own.

I usually play the Genji Lane wreck pusher build with the ability to turn their bots into flybots of my own and healing shots and that stuff. It requires two teammates who can keep the enemy tean busy though. But with a good team I can push all the turrets down super fast with that build.

But then I started playing with my GF and she refused to play anything else, so I had to play pyro.

I personally think that their native languages should come out more during stressful situations, like when they're taking heavy damage, they die, they lose the match or whatever.
That said I don't even like that every single hero has this one line they literally scream when they do their ultimate.

it's because the shouts are tells for the teams. They shouldn't different depending on whether the ult was used by an ally or enemy, so you know whether it's time to push or hit cover. Allowing too many customizations would really fuck with people, although though there are some different ones. Hanzo's line is changed if he's got the Lone Wolf or Okami skin

There shouldn't even be a shout. You should be able to tell from sublte sounds if you're in close prozimity alone.
For example Junkrat doesn't need to scream FIRE IN THE HOLE, instead just make it into a quiet giggle and the only thing else you can hear is him revving the motor on the tire and NOT globally by everyone, even the enemy team.

Some ults would be way, way, way too powerful if there was no way to know they were coming. Tire, high noon, tank mode etc.
The thing is, even with the obvious announcement to the enemy team, you can still do great things with those ults. It's a matter of knowing the right time to use it.

I started focusing on Zenyatta and he was fun once I got the hang of it but hard to rack up kills. Then I unlocked the comfy woodbot skin for Bastion so decided to give him a go. Mowing down fools became so much easier. I know he's supposed to be defensive but I enjoy charging in when enemies aren't expecting and and fucking them up in turret mode. It's definitely possible to rain hell on people as him but so many characters have counters to Bastions moveset.

They already do sort of change depending on whose team the character is on. if both sides have mercy the enemy mercy will use the not english ult sound and the ally team uses the English one. same with Hanzo's ult, you can actually notice it if you died during the ult during the death cam because it'll be english in the killcam.
