Finally finished this a few days and even 20 years later I was still able to get sucked into the world.
Especially how even objects in the foreground kinda react to stuff you're doing.
If there's one thing this game has going for it, it's atmosphere. 1 and 3 not so much though. Hopefully 4 brings it back.

Reach didn't have any atmosphere whatsoever. The story was really good, but the atmosphere was nonexistent, you push through 80% of the game before you get to absorb any of the environments. The one chapter where you board the covenant ship six leaves behind his partner to die is the only time it felt like it had some sort of suspended disbelief.
Don't get me wrong, Soul Reaver is great too, but Blood Omen just has so much more atmosphere.
Getting to hear Kain talk about everything from cities to equipment and some of the books he picks off a shelf is just orgasmic.
