So Gryffindor is generally for the brave or courageous people right? But the Sorting Hat still put Neville Longbottom in Gryffindor, even though he would likely fit better in another house.
Just make it so that around 25% of the player base gets put into each house. The brave are more likely to be put into Gryffindor, the noble into Slytherin, and whatever else for the other houses. But there will always be 25% of the player base in each house.

I'd honestly rather a proper RPG where you can make your own character and go through your 7 years at Hogwarts while dealing with evil shenanigans.
It being an MMO would just lead to uninspired gameplay/cool down simulator with no cutscenes, intrigue or charm at all. Going up to a person with an exclamation point over their head and collecting an arbitrary amount of potion ingredients wouldn't feel like Harry Potter at all.
