Btw if you enjoy that I highly reccommend his Latro in the Mist books its the best Ancient Greece fantasy bar none. Basically this Proto-Roman fought for the Persian side against the 300, and then he gets a head wound that cause him to lose his memory every night. With his head wound he can see gods and mythological creatures, but he doesnt know if its real or his own brain fucking with him. He goes on a very historically accurate tour of ancient Greece trying to rediscover his identity, writing down everything he can so he doesnt forget. Also the friendship between Latro and his (literal) nigga Seven Lions is really well written, like Fathrd & Grey Mouser or Spock & Kirk tier. It forms a nice yin and yang with Book of the New Sun because Severin never forgets, but he doesnt often understand things and sometimes lies, whereas Latro (his real name is a spoiler) forgets everything but is very honest and perceptive. Wolfe is great at using stuff like this to fuck with the reader and force them to figure things out on their own.
Also, anyone that enjoys beautiful prose, fuckhuge almost supernatural Souls style castles, and interesting characters without a huge focus on action scenes (although the fews fights it has are pretty good) should definitely read Peakes Gormenghast books. Honestly I think JK Rowling ripped him off on the couple chapters where young Titus goes to school. I consider Tolkien, Peake, & Wolfe to be the big three of Fantasy,

Without resorting to memes, WoT had very feminist overtones, with cultures on both sides of the wall being fairly unisex, and women being specifically the only people who could be magic users safely (also women being the highest authority in the sea folk culture)
