I get this "nothing to play" feeling a lot. Also have hundreds of games on Steam.
But it really has nothing to do with what's in my Steam library, or Steam's entire catalog. I have so many Steam games because of bundles. Bundles always have one good game, which alone justifies the purchase, and then a bunch of crap. Moreover, I have more than $60 in disposable income; I could buy literally any single video game right now, if I knew what I wanted to play.
The problem is that I don't know what to play. My free time is so limited because of my job that, paradoxically, I can't even bring myself to use that free time effectively. I bought The Witcher 2 during a recent sale and I haven't played it yet because I never feel like starting a long-ass game when I have to go to bed in an hour.
So I just end up watching TV like a normie.
This is how it happens.
So yeah.
As already stated earlier in this thread, there's something psychological going on when we have too many choices.
So, the "answer" I found for myself is the following:
Plan A:
1. Never, ever, buy another game before you play the previous game you already bought to completion.
2. If the game is good, 100% it.
3. If it's not that good, just finish it.
4. If it's unbearable and you can't stand another second of it anymore, go complain on /v/, make some shitpost threads about said game and go play something else.
5. Repeat.
Plan B:
1. Have JUST AND ONLY JUST 3 games installed that you are FUCKING SURE YOU WANT TO COMPLETE.
2. In addition to this 3 games, have another 2 or 3 games that you play for multiplayer purposes only. Imagine dota 2, starcraft, team fortress 2, wherever the fuck you like to multiplayer.
3. Try to stick with one game at a time to complete. When you get bored or having doubts if you should continue playing it or just buy something else, go play some multiplayer, have a drink, masturbate, shitpost, etc.
4. End AT LEAST 2 of the games you choose. If the other one is too shit to complete, shitpost about it on /v/.
This worked for me, and I'm curious if some anons have other strategies for this kinda of thing.
