How the fuck can people think this. The weapons and movesets in DaS 3 are boring as all shit coming from Bloodborne. It just feels slow, clunky, and re-hash-to-the-max. I like DaS 3, but holy hell is BB a better game, about on par with DaS, but more or less complete like DeS (in which they had the decency to just cut off the unfinished area rather than making it the second half of the fucking game).
Also, subjectively, I greatly prefer BB's combat and movement scheme. I actually feel like I'm fighting beasts rather than playing shield peak-a-boo or fucking rolling around like fatass raccoon.

While I thought Bloodborne was okay, it physically tires me to bother playing with the incredibly mediocre-non dlc content, forbidden woods in particular is a point so incredibly dull and tedious, there's no incoming satisfying moment to actually make the area round off nicely, something I felt most of the areas in the latter half of the game suffered from immensely.
The combat is smoother, but it's really not even that faster than dark souls 3, but the main problem I have with bloodborne is that it's just really dull, in terms of area design, weapon aesthetics, hunter tool variety, early-mid game boss design, the long agonisingly boring forbidden woods-yahar'gul content.
Just not very fun or rewarding of ones exploration either.

I didn't say it was more challenging, I said it was faster, with better mobility, with more interesting weapons that have superior movesets, thus making it more fun, and the better game.
DaS was much easier than BB by far. Slower, everything is hugely predictable. But it was also a much better, more fun game than DaS 3. I played about two hours of DaS II before deciding I really didn't like it, so I can't comment on it. Also need to finish DeS but I need a new PS3. DeS, from what I've played of it, is also much better than DaS III because it prioritizes atmosphere, good design, and fun over the LE HARD marketing campaign. BB feels more challenging to me than any of them, but I enjoy it more because I feel in control, and I don't normally play fast paced, third person action games. Thus Nioh was kicking my ass when I tried it a couple days ago.

Haven't touched 3. Not interested. Will probably pick it up down the road and likely enjoy it, but every trailer and gameplay vid I've seen makes it look like a boring retread. Bloodborne felt like a fresh injection of adrenaline, and I loved it. But I don't want a sequel, either. This is exactly my point in these arguments. BB's weapons and movesets are so much better, so much more focused on being good than plentiful, that I don't see what people see in DaS III's gameplay. Everything in BB is more fun than DaS III. Sick ass transformations, charge attacks, better movesets overall.

I'm sure I will. But Bloodborne was a perfect closing high note for me, and 3 looks to be more of the same of what I've already experienced. BB wasn't, and didn't. I'm happy to take a hiatus from the series and see if some future installment inspires me to try it out again. If not, I'll pick up 3 on the cheap some months down the road. There's plenty out and coming out that I'm already eager to play (Ratchet, Uncharted, Deus Ex), so I'm in no hurry to pick another Souls game in which I have no supreme interest to begin with.

The new levels are pretty weak in my opinion, but the bosses are fantastic and there's a lot of new weapons to play with. If you're the kind of person who can stick with one weapon for a whole playthrough and master every little detail about it, Old Hunters will add a ton of replay value to your game. But if you just want to breeze through it once and see the new story stuff and then never play it again, it's probably not worth the asking price.

Not even remotely close. Dark Souls 3 doesn't put you in a counter damage state and add an extra 30%~ just for being in the middle of a roll or sprinting, doing just about anything other than standing still or strafing in BB puts you at severe risk of being 1 shot, or losing 60%+ of your life then being killed as you panic and try to spam the dashes to escape. As opposed to Dark Souls 3 where you only take that counter damage (and not as severely) if you're in the middle of an attack. You have no reason to not be spamming rolls in Dark Souls 3.

I've actually beaten the game with every weapon except the rifle spear. Yeah, they are all actually good. There's some that are better for your individual character and stats.

Sure it is, the only weapons that play close to similarly is Kirkhammer/Ludwig, where they have the same straight sword as the regular form then the slow heavy hitters in the second form where you'll rely more on stunlock to get the job done, other than that, the Saw Cleaver and Saw Spear.
Otherwise all the weapons have their own gimmicks and interesting traits that make them worth playing with, if you have a high level PVE character it's a lot of fun in NG+.

I find that the weapons are unique enough to justify how many there are (in comparison to the Soul series), though almost every build is melee save for arcane, which can go full spellcasting if you dump enough into arcane.

Every weapon is viable in DaS, except for PvP. I did a fucking dual caestus run once, and that's arguably the worst weapon in the game. BB has it's own "objectively better" weapons as well.

Yeah, the Four Kings is a DPS race, if you can't do enough damage in a quick enough time span they spawn too many Kings and overwhelm you to where it'd be impossible to win without hacks, you can't do a bare fist playthrough if you want to beat them, unless you use that one glitch to use buffs on your fists.

I don't have a list of BB weapons to look at right now (not using a computer at the moment) but some weapons were just mediocre compared to their counterparts. Take the threaded cane, for example. It's not necessarily bad, but most skill scaling weapons are much better than it.

No, they're really not, and especially for certain bosses. They're not like DaS weapons and I think you're falling into the "AR over everything" trap.
For example. The cane can literally hold abhorrent beast at bay, swing all over lowered heads. It's EXCELLENT for crowd control, which a lot of SKL weapons don't do as well as the cane, while doing other things better.
