Never really liked Time Stop outside single runs, and even then not much. Anything that your Dark Planetar doesn't insta-gib is likely immune to Time Stop anyhow, in which case your Mage and team get fucked. And Time Stop just slows everything down. Your frontline would've cleared the whole fight ages earlier if you weren't stuck waiting for your mage to fire off some spells by themselves.

Spread your dudes out and don't bother to buff because Firky has two contingency spells that will strip your magic defenses naked and try and spread the fear.
After that, drop some buffs and/or spell pierce/remove magic/etc on firk, haste, smack until dead.
I doubt this is even a good tactic but it works for me erry time without any crazy prep. BG2 fights are always about the first two rounds of surviving whatever stunlock bullshit the enemy tries to pull and then just smacking the shit out of them.
