Already put a ticket in to cancel my pre-order. I knew it wasn't going to be GOTY but I didn't expect to get bored this quick. I'm usually a competitive player and all for team-based FPS but once you play every map once the game loses all replay value and falls flat on it's face.
Balance is frustrating to say the least, not sure how it's been in closed beta for so long and there are still tier 1 heroes like McCree that are based entirely around a 1-2 combo. It doesn't help that I don't find any of the heroes fun to play apart from Pharah, Soldier and Tracer, but that's just my own taste.

The problem aren't the characters, though we could sure use some more.
The problem is that there are two fucking game modes with 0 variation.
It'll all come down to if they release new content on a regular basis. So long as there's something new every few months it'll be fine; provided you don't have to pay for all of it.
Right now we've got a bunch of no-lives who've burnt out on the beta; same thing happens with every MMO: the half of the community that plays it 10x more than the other half has already 'done everything,' so the game's garbage because there's 'nothing to do.'
Then an expansion comes out, they put in 10+ hours in one weekend, and then complain that there wasn't enough new shit in the expansion.
Meanwhile the other half of the community's probably clocked in less than 5mins with all but 5-10 of the heroes.

I had fun playing, didn't find any performance issues and pretty much everyone I played with seemed to be having fun. Reminds me of old TF2 community servers.
The only thing I actually dislike about it is the loot system (a few ramdom items per level is pretty shitty) and that there is no ranked/competitive mode. Tanks feel almost completely useless and a team can get by just fine without one. They have no fucking damage output whatsoever and struggle to even win a one on one with any other character. Their high health pool doesn't make a difference either, they still get shredded by any damage character.
And FUCK bastion. How do they think its ok for him to do such high damage? If you walk around a corner and don't know where he is, you are dead. DEAD. Instant fucking death, before you realize whats happening. There shouldn't be a character that can shred another character in half a second.

Also, most of the tanks have other purposes besides being tanky. D.va is a strong close quarters brawler and her ult is amazingly effective at clearing rooms or objectives. Reinhardt is a super ultra mega tank and even he has one of the only bits of CC in the game and an awesome charge. Winston is useful for breaking fortifications, as long as the defenses don't involve fucking Bastion (they do). Roadhog has the fucking hook, which is great, and the world's most annoying ultimate.
I'm probably forgetting one or two of them.
The tank heroes definitely aren't useless.
Also, to beat Bastion, you just need to make a strong effort to counter him, which is rather obnoxious for casual pubs. Pick Genji and send his ten gorrillion damage back at him, pick Widow and poke him from a distance, et cetera.

Widowmaker and Hanzo are useless if he's hiding somewhere close quarters, for example, so you have to swap out. It's not even that good of a combo. Hook is tough to hit, especially on small/fast targets, and the range is barely passable. If Roadhog manages to get in on you to the point where he can hook you, you only have yourself to blame.

Well since everyone got reset, you have Hogs who are good at hook completely obliterating lowbies. Hook also gets easier with practice. At first, I couldn't hit a hook to save my life. After a few rounds, I was at 70%~. There is a rhythm to it and the aiming is fairly lenient.

As of right now, all of Overwatch's arenas could be condensed to a circular gladiator arena with randoms structures to act as cover and it would probably still feel the same when you play it.

Fighting Reinhardt as Tracer is the funniest shit. They'll just constantly flick their shield around helplessly trying to block your damage. God forbid your team is pushing in from the other angle, then you get either the ones who prioritize the most damage and pray their team does something or the ones who just spin around to every damage indicator they get in the hopes that they can somehow block everything.

It's an okay game I guess. I had the same feeling of rediscovering TF2, but these feelings faded quite fast because of how limited each character's gameplay is. There are just a few characters that have a real learning curve, and from what I've seen, there's nothing that justify the 6v6 when TF2 can do a 12v12, if not for several broken ultimate skills.
I had fun, and it seems to be an okay game, but I don't see myself playing more than 20 hours with it.
