Dodge and roll through everything, as soon as you can hit her don't stop hitting until you run out of stamina.
The frost-casting copies can be taken out with 1 hit from anything, including arrows. Hitting the real one causes copies to despawn temporarily as well.

Then don't get hit. There's also a bunch of pillars in the area which you can shelter behind while you compose yourself. Always take out the mimics first or you're gonna be taking a Crystal Soul Spear up your ass.

I gotta be honest, it took me 5 tries to beat the Crystal Sage on my first run. It's a harder fight than people give it credit for, especially if you don't have much VIG. The mimics and endless magic being fired at you can really make it difficult to get a foothold in the fight. Lukvily they're easy to kill and one usually spawns next to you which can be instantly taken out.

OP don't give up. Sages can be total bullshit if you get bad RNG or don't know how to bait out a good spawn on the purple guy. If you take too long before you start hitting the purple guy you get buttfucked by a million soul spears and it's fucking complete garbage. The fight is mechanically similar to Pinwheel but the clones actually have some bite if you don't start smacking the purple one right away. Also they're weak to fire.

Roll through spells, not around them. Same goes for melee and shit. It decreases the window of getting hit and you close in on opponents.
Kill the purple one. Use the pillars to block soul spears.

Abyss Watchers are fucking easy, so yeah, go do those first. Not to mention Farron Keep is a pain in ass so it's best to get it over and done with. Then again, The Cathedral is also a pain in the ass. Even more so actually, since it's much bigger. At least you won't have any issues with Deacons though.
I learned this rolling an alt for pvp.
Find a usable weapon with low stats. Like, the Broadsword will do.
OK now level Vit to 27. You know, like normal except you do it first!
All damage scaling is broken until like after the Abyss Watchers, it is pretty great.

Dark Souls 3 in general is much, much, much easier once you realize the game was designed from the start to be played with 1000 hp for the whole game. Level up your HP to 27 ASAP, before leveling up damage stats and you'll never die to a boss again
You can summon that Knight of Carim with the giant hammer and watch as he proceeds to do absolutely nothing, die, and make the boss battle harder for you.

But I did find a way to beat this boss with a pretty damn high success rate. After the first phase of Wack-a-mage, the second set up has the mage appearing on the blue crystals only. So you pretty much just watch where the crystals spawn, then go straight to the crystals and bop him right when he spawns.theaveragestream/v/60551613is a video of me doing it perfectly. It has a pattern, it's not hard. Get fucking good.

Just got the Grass Crest Shield, doesn't have 95 % anymore as it did in DS1, but still helps a lot since i two hand all the time anyway

Shields are good for the niggas who have fast followups, like Gundyr or Dragon armour. Holding block while dodging is a safer bet because blocking is instant after you finish your roll, but before you can start another one.
You definitely shouldn't rely on tanking hits, though. That gets you fucked up pretty quick

You get there from Road of Sacrifices. There's a staircase in that crab area (left from those 2 scary humanoids where you entered to Farron) or you can go from the 2nd bonfire, there's a hole in the wall right next to it. If you get through that building you'll end up at Crystal Sage.

Yeah I did, I'm I think level 30 with 32 dex and like 13 str. Makes the game fun having to dodge all the time but of course frustrating dying so easily. I don't want to summon but I might have to. How the fuck is anyone having problems with the Deacons? They do literally zero damage outside their combined spell. All you have to do is just run around and beat on the one that needs to get beaten. And he takes a ton of damage. How the fuck does anyone have problems here? I can forgive if you die a couple of times maybe because you got hit with the comined spell or got cursed because you were too blind to spot the giant dark ones but come the fuck on i though this was a vidya board
