I thought that was weird at first too, but then I remembered from the one chapter in The Last Wish. Princess Pavetta, Ciri's mother, was also a descendant of the elder blood and used that same power when her lover Duny was attacked because he was transformed a mutant by magic, so in the end it all makes sense. Ciri was angry and she couldn't stop his death, but she at least used her power to drive the Wild Hunt away.

The Darkness.
That's Jenny, Johnny (The MC's) girlfriend. He's restrained by The Darkness and forced to watch those dudes blow her brains out in arms reach, because it thinks the hate and suffering will make his Darkness stronger.
Earlier in the game you can spend time with Jenny and such, and there's a scene where if you want, you can watch en ENTIRE fucking movie, in real time, with her, as long as you don't skip the cutscene. She dozes off on your shoulder, etc.
I'm shit at explaining this, but if you play it it's fucking heartbreaking.

I wish I had played more games that are like this. I had about 80 hours in Xenoblade before my save corrupted. I've replayed it up to Eryth Sea and got bored by all the political shit I had to go through again. That city is way too fucking large and empty and it takes a year to walk around.
Also I need to play Okami one day. Is the original PS2 version emulated still the best way to go?

darkness forced him to let jenny die because it was its way of letting him know it is in control, jackie is never truly in full control of the darkness, the darkness also knew that jenny was jackies "light" the reason he would be more reluctant to do evil, it saw her as an obstacle to fully take control of him.
