see, in order to make a good capeshit game, you need to decide what structure to make it first.
The goal is to make the player feel like the character they're controlling.
So, would the character benefit from a level structure, or a more free roam structure?
Games like pic related and Spider-Man 2 succeed because the characters you play move a lot. The swinging and jumping is integral to making a game with those characters.
But look at say The Punisher game. Would a Punisher game benefit from an open world style game? Well he only kills criminals and isn't really out and about. So a level style works best.
With making say an Iron Man game, you'd want to capture the feeling of flying.
