Sheeit son I've been considering going another month lately. Gonna have to look into what's in the new expansion. My corp probably kicked me out months ago.

me i want to be part of a corp but i only do station trading :'(

No, the war is over, the Goons got the single biggest ass-beating in the history of all videogames, and pretty much everyone is back into scamming each other.
It is too late now.
>>
>>336393963
Go on.

A friend of mine who doesn't even play the game was talking about some big battle that happened. What happened exactly?
>>
I'll tell you the same thing I tell myself every time I want to resub (and about a month after I resub anyway)

The gameplay of EvE is far too boring for the amazing things that universe let's you do. Its an experience like no other game for sure, but anything involving using a ship to do something is really lacking.

I fly interceptors mainly, scouting and tackling around Scalding Pass region. I'm not ignorant to the intricacies of EvE combat, but my fun is coming from my corp mates. I love eve but its boring as hell

It's weird how a game can be so expansive and monotonous all at the same time. Hacking is kind of fun but surely it get's old, what doesn't is the thrill of watching your back. Never actually killed anyone in the game though I am decently trained with a stealth bomber and have tried for many hours to gank but I either ran into an unknown step and fuck it all up or I just never get the chance. I quit because after like over a week of everyday trying to simply gank a mother fucker I couldn't do it. I'm terrible at it apparently.

Its very difficult anon, fleets are the key to PvP. I'm with you there, last 3 months invested in the new years I spent in wormholes mostly, spookier than null for sure. Its a phenomenally atmospheric game too. When that bug bites and you log back in after however long that music and computer voice are like a flannel blanket.

Daily reminder that Russians now own pretty much 75% of sov space.

Did they ever fix the progression system with eve? Once you get the ship you want there is literally no reason to keep playing

Its without a doubt one of the greatest videogames ever made, the music, the atmosphere, the near limitless possibilities, the player driven economy, just simply amazing, but ultimately the inherent MMO grinding gets old really fast, especially if you have a char with low SP that limits your options. I resubbed last month and I still have like 9 days or so but I just said fuck it and uninstalled the game. Its not worth it, 90% of the time spent in the game you'll be grinding for isk, traveling from one system to another, scanning for shit, or just plain dicking around waiting for something, anything to happen. Also solo pvp is pretty much non existent.

When it gets to the point where people are actively messing with you in the real world so they can beat you in game, it's gotten too far.

I was a goon, and no one is going to believe this because it's not public knowledge and I have no proof, but a lot of us just quit playing because of real life death threats from the Russian mafia.

If you're going to play this game, don't mess with Russians. There are some dark parts of space where real world black market and deepweb dealings are done through the game. I've heard stories about some poor sap jumping through the wrong gate or scanning the wrong deep space location then having a cleaner knock on his door the next day. This game is fucking scary. Stay safe.

Thanks, Anon. You save me a few dollars there. You made me realize it's too soon. I like it, but I'm still not completely over being tired of it yet.

lol if Eve is the best the Russian mafia can do than they must be in a pretty sorry state.

>Decide to be a Salvager, by far the least profitable of all EvE Professions
>Open my map and look up areas that have had recent pvp activity
>Warp into the biggest reddest spot I can find
>It's quiet, too quiet
>Decide to just hang around the pile of wreckages, cloaked up.
>Another guy pops in, moves to the wrecks
>He starts salvaging them
>No less than three asshats decloak and and blasting him
>Casually slip behind them, scoop up some drones and grab a few wrecks before beating a hasty retreat.
>Get blown to shit by a gate camp on my way back to my junkyard

Eve has its moments, but you gotta be an RPfag to really get into it

aye.

Someones who still sub since 2003 still have a massive advantage over others, who are late to sub, but still have a chance of fighting against the elites in a right ship, gears, and time. :^)

>space trashman
>lease profitable

Nah nigga, you just gotta git gud.
>>
>>336397085
From what I've seen scanning down mission runners is the cleanest way to make money but I hate the scanning interface and the thrill of being in null space is what kept me going
>>
>>336397217
Never said that being a trashman is the safest job. Hell, if you're rolling around in null then you're likely one of the most dangerous jobs. However, being able to get a 10 mil item for a few seconds of risk isn't half bad. Getting 20 of them is pretty damn good.
>>
>>336393663

Oh hey it's...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......
>>
>>336397374
Nah, its only dangerous on the frontier zones where everyone tries to gate camp. Once you get out into the wild black yonder, 99% of what you find is just nothingness and battlefields that are completely abandoned.
>>
>>336397596
True, but you always risk getting rekt in null, even if you're in the middle of nowhere. Worse, the middle of nowhere is much harder to get wrecks in.

Have you joined a corp looking for trashmen? easiest money I've ever made. Follow some motherfuckers around while they're ratting, give them 10% of all sales.
>>
>>336397925
Nah, all the corps I've approached have basically told me to go for a real profession so I fly solo more or less. Occasionally shack up with people for a temp job of salvaging behind them for a cut of the reward. But it never goes much father than that

So I played this game for a bit years ago, got one of these guys and didn't really mess with the game since.

Is it really worth getting into at this point? I'm not really interested in PvPing really but the thought of a living breathing galaxy around me is exhilarating. Being that I'm old now I have the time and patience for such things.

That said, I'm only really interested in something passive like mining. I tried Elite: Dangerous and that just made me wanna commit suicide. So is it worth it?
>>
>tfw you managed to join the goon
>stopped playing after a month
>now I can't even go back to the forums to read all these stories about scamming
The scam threads were the fucking best.
>>
>>336398313
Eve is more rewarding. Though it can be boring and frustrating.
>>
>>336396957
Salvager is fun. It's surprising how much money you can make for such little investment and once you've got access to null without high risk of camps you can even do it with starter ships.

I used to teach newbs how to Ninja salvage in high sec before they went off to low/null to do exploration and other salvaging. Good player skills to learn like fast scanning and preparing quick escape routes in case the mission runner deliberately loses aggro.

Ninja is the worst paid for the risk but it's still fun when people get butthurt and new players can make better dosh than lvl1-3 missions, especially if the runner doesn't come back/notice you stole the regular loot too.
>>
>>336398313
>Elite: Dangerous and that just made me wanna commit suicide
i feel you, i feel you senpai
what a husk of a game
>>
>>336398313
There is definitely a lot more stuff to do in EVE than in Elite, even if you don't pvp, but considering you already tried the game years ago and it didn't really grab you, I don't know...
>>
>>336396798
It's great. Mittens' minions pissed off the people actually rich enough to bankroll to cost of total war with the goons both with ISK and allegedly with RMT (though it hasn't been proven)...and the casino is winning. It's the First Law of Gambling, EVE-style: The House always wins.
