Indian devs are the worst in the world. I've never worked on video games so I can't speak for those, but when it comes to enterprise software they are absolute garbage. In the past decades a lot of this work got outsourced to Indie because they were dirt-cheap, but that's becoming less and less common since it's becoming more known how shit Indians are.
Their code quality is abysmal, some go as far as to purposely make their code awful so it's hard for anyone else to maintain it. They will often create bugs on purpose, because it means they'll get paid double when they have to rewrite the code to fix those bugs. User support is something Indians have never heard of. Indians have no creativity or common sense, if you don't tell them exactly what to do down to every last detail, they will fuck it up 100% of the time. They work for peanuts and they're relatively fast which is why they got a good reputation in the past, but now that much of that cheap software is in need of updating or replacing it's clear just how bad they have always been, and their reputation is literally worth less than shit these days.

I've never been terribly interested in India as a region. Its history is very tangled up in city states and messy principalities. I much prefer to study Iran and the Levant.
I also have a bitterness regarding the Hindu caste system and concept of Dharma.
