Sometimes reviewers, even meme reviewers, are a godsend. When there's a product completely alien to me I like to look at every angle and all of these shitty YouTube and blog reviewers help fill out the puzzle.
I'd like to say no (since I don't watch any reviewers) but they say those whom think they're least affected by advertising are the most affected.
That being said, I've made 3 (three) video game purchases in the last 2 years.
Not counting stuff I pick up for a dollar in bargain bins.

I'm not saying the game is above critism, (most of his points are true, but the technical issues all got patched) but can no one formulate thier own opinion? It happens with other games as well, someone makes a profound and easily justifiable statement and from then on it gets repeated and repeated.
It's not just "celebrities" either, maybe it's just coincidence but I wrote "Dark Souls 3's enemies act as if it's Bloodborne but the player is stuck playing Dark Souls" and in the weeks following that exact opinion has appeared in every DaS3 thread and across other websites. Maybe I wasn't the person who started that meme (but for all I know it could be me), but the point is no-one thinks up thier own complex opinions, people just have vauge thoughts and will mindlessly repeat anything with actual reasoning that reaffirms these views.
