I went on a two week vacation like the day before it came out. He went way after they got rid of all their wall scrolls. My only preorder ever, in fact.
The last game I preordered with my father, who was dying at the time, was one that there was quite a bit of hype behind, but the preorders were very far in advance. Dad always would take me to get games and preorder or buy games I had my eyes on when we'd go to the game store, even after he got sick.
Eventually my father's health declined such that he couldn't leave the house or move around reliably, and had problems even physically going to doctors. He didn't last too much longer and died, and for months after his death I was still picking up games we'd preordered. It wasn't until the last preorder we made and the last one to come out that his memory was really just kinda shit upon after I took it home, installed it, and beat it the same day and found the game to be lacking and shit.
EA, you literally ruined my father's memory by ruining Spore. Fuck you and fuck everyone you've ever cared about or loved.
