I've been playing MMOs since UO and EQ, there was nothing wrong with 1.0 other than the shitty performance, and even then it wasn't the type of run around dodging circles game that required blistering 60fps.
The only people who complained about 1.0 being "clunky" were people weaned on modern themepark MMOs. I'm not shitting on 2.0, but I wish they could have kept 1.0 alive in some form instead of throwing out all the complexity and deliberately paced fights.

I wish they had just taken 1.0's world and gameplay mechanics and redone it in a new engine with better netcoding. Just fiddle with the areas and make them interesting looking, and then populate it with things to do. It fucking kills me that the world in 2.0 is completely barren of things to do except for when leveling via fates or running to "hunts". Neither of which are truely group activities, as no one has to or does talk with each other during those activities - except to cry out when someone pulls a spawn too early because there's no community in the game and so such actions have no consequence.

If you're not there to practice the latest EX primal in week 1 of a patch it is pure torture trying to clear it later; and if you're not in those EX practice parties on day 1 making friends with other competent players then you're completely fucked when it comes to the hardcore raids.
I was studying for an exam when 3.2 dropped and I had to stop playing. Trying to find a Seph EX learning party was a nightmare (learning, not clear- we're talking hours of waiting and immediate disbands in the rare event they filled), and no one was going to take a person missing 3 weeks of Lore and a SephEX weapon into Midas Savage.
And I'd rather kill myself than pointlessly farm dungeons for the next 3 months so I can join learning parties for a fucking catchup EX primal.

Use your cooldowns when you or another NIN apply the vulnerability debuff from Trick Attack.
No excuse for Fuma>Raiton unless you absolutely cannot get within range.
AoE DoT and spam your AoE attack if there are more than three enemies.
