ITT: Great games that will never get a sequel
Half life 2
>>336324393
Holy shit I completely forgot about this game. I remembering playing the fuck out of it as a kid and trying the multiplayer with friends. For some reason I also remember it being really damn difficult.
>>336325126
Yeah it gets pretty tough at the end. I just replayed it on the hardest difficulty and had to use a health cheat to pass the second to last boss fight since the medkits are so scarce in the game.
;_;
>>336324393
>MFW got the upgraded remastered edition from GoG before it was taken down
Feels good man
>>336325805
He said GREAT games, not mediocre filler-trash.
>>336324393

same shit happened to me with shenmue 2, over 10 years later they start a kickstarter for shenmue 3.....damn I cant even remember the story!

t-thanks lionhead studio
>>336327453
>smacked my creature to shit if he even breathed wrong
>after a while it never dared do anything interesting or even slightly experimental
>blind obedience

Still amazes me, the versatility of that AI
>>336328472
Honestly, it wasn't that amazing.
>do random [task] with random [object]
>if [player] [makesApprovingGesture] repeat in [shortTime]
>if [player] [makesDisapprovingGesture] repeat in [longTime]
>if [player] [doesNotMakeGesture] repeat in [mediumTime]
Rinse repeat forever.

>multiplayer
damn some fond memories are coming back, I remember playing this game in my GC with my cousins, shit was so fun, we always played the mode where you have to kill a little grim reaper that runs around the map
>>336324393
YOU CAN FLYYY
YOU CAN HIDE
YOU CAN CLOSE YOUR EYES BUT I'M STILL ON THE RUN
>>336325665
Fuck man I was just playing the translation patch the other day.
>>336325665
The nigger was too much for me.
>Incredibly unique gameplay
>great artstyle
>Dark story about loneliness with an interesting take on the post-apocalyptic setting
>Microshit doesnt want to invest the money for the reboot they themselves went out to try to make
>Doesn't even call original creator to ask if wants to help make the reboot
Seriously fuck MicroShit
>>336330350
If pressed to describe that game, what would you say? I've seen a copy at a flea market I attend every now and then and no one ever picks it up.
kill me desu
>>336324393
>the bank mission
>the throwing knifes
>never again
hello darkness my old friend
>>336330545
You play as daddy longlegs and in order to prevent from getting murdered, you go back in time constantly.
>>336330590
It's actually about to have one
>>336330545
It's an adventure game. Meme /v/ would call it a walking simulator, but its actually good. You walk around a german town in bunch of different time eras, trying to prevent your murder in the current day. It's incredibly well written for a time travel game, having virtually zero plotholes. Its made by members of Team Silent and has like 7 endings.
If you like mindfuck games, this is for you.
>>336330683
I'll pick it up if it's still there this Saturday.
>>336330784
the only thing that is sadder than this not having a sequel is poor lost souls who still believe in a sequel a decade later
>>336330853
I like that. It sounds cool! I'll pick it up if the guy still has it this Saturday!

Little Nemo: The Dream Master
Something having to do with the trademark or copyright or something. Just imagine a new gen game with me.. Imagine 4 playable characters: Nemo, Flip, Camille, and Bon Bon.
Imagine bed flying levels where you have to outrun nightmares.
I would kill all of you for this.
>>336330590
this any good?
could never get it to run right, even though it was patched and my machine met recommended specs.
>>336331373
best vampire game of all time by a mile and one of the best game ive ever played
>>336330871
Some company literally just bought the rights to it. Like last week... What they will do with it is anyones guess
I'd buy a sequel to this day 1 if it were as good as the first 2.
>>336331486
link ?
>>336331475
>best vampire game of all time
oh.
what's so great about it though?
>>336331373
unofficial patch fixes it now im 80% sure
>>336331545
Did I say last week? Apparently it was last October.
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2015/10/29/paradox-white-wolf/
Fucking Bulletstorm. Maybe it wasn't a great game but I think it was good enough that it deserves a sequel to flesh out its ideas
>>336331714
Don't sweat it senpai. I thought it was still February just a few weeks ago.
>>336331687
amazing world, level design, story, characters
>>336331820
Happened to me too when I looked at XCOM2.
Bloodlines is unfuckingplayable in year 2016 unless you played it back in the day.
>broken
>glitchy
>shit engine
>shit floaty gameplay
I can go back to a lot of 90s shit, but this is just unplayable.
>>336331898
is that it?
The ending was perfect sequel-bait.I never completed this 100% so the secret ending may have ruined the opportunity.
>>336331290
MY SECOND DECREE!
Maketh my games peasants.
it was more fun than I ever had with FPSes in a while
>>336324393
I liked that David dechovney voiced the MC
>>336332273
I haven't touched these, are they good?
>Shuhei Yoshida
>I still occasionally hear from fans of The Legend of Dragoon, and many want to know if there is a sequel.
>LOD2 was put into preproduction after I left the Japan Studio, but was eventually cancelled for some unknown reason, and the team members moved on to different projects.
It still hurts.
>>336330440
>>336330350
now these are some games.
>>336332273
part 1 yes part 2 no..fuck cel shading grafixx
>>336330853
Weren't some of the endongs only attainable through newgame+? Like you replayed a scene, but had more.options, because the MC already experienced that Scene?
>>336331312
This game was so much fun. I was never particularly good online but the amount of customization was incredible. Any other good mech games like it?
>>336332823
Daily reminder that Zieg did nothing wrong.
>>336333249
>>336332273
I agree with this guy.
The two games have a bit of a different feel to them. The first game is more open world-y, more atmospheric and has a more solid story.
The second game is more streamlined and has tighter shooting, but is shorter and doesn't have any parts that come close to certain sections of the first game (storywise, atmosphere, aesthetic appeal)
>>336333782
He actually did.He slept with Rose the prick! Leave mah waifu alone!!! >tfw being cucked by vidya
>>336334027
Could Dart possibly have picked a worse girl? There were 3 other, superior, women in that game and he went with Childhood Friend McAverage.
>>336334085
Pure childhood love is strong, especially in JRPGs. As for the other girls, Meru is way too cheeky for him, Miranda a bitch, and it would be too weird to be with Rose.

YESTERDAY I WAS THROWING STONES AT THEM
>>336335092
My uncle knew I liked games and didn't really know what to get me, I got this as a birthday present. Probably one of the greatest presents ever. A nice blend of genres.
Yes, it almost got one. But lord knows if it'll be brought back from the dead.
>>336333317
Only the super best ending. The others could be obtained, but you were most likely to get less good ones first time through as certain endings required careful steps to open up a scenario for a certain ending.
>>336336125
Ah cool. I should pick it some time again. I remember quitting after two endings, because the game is reeaaaly calm.
>>336332134
It also folds your laundry and bakes a mean loaf of lemon bread.
What the fuck do you mean is that all? It's an explorative rpg based off a roleplaying staple made in the 90's, what else are you looking for?
>>336324393
There's already 13, though. Why would you want a 14?
>>336329613
I bought this game on GC recently and I tried the multiplayer.
It was garbage, the framerate was horrible, moving and aiming was sluggish.
We just stop after one round to play some Time Spliters.
>>336333458
>Any other good mech games like it?
Armored Core 4 and 5But they're both dead
