If NX isn't backwards compatible with Wii U, it absolutely needs a Spla2n. Splatoon is without a doubt one of, if not the best game on the system and it would be a crying shame if it died an early death due to the failure of the console it was made for. Hell, I'm not quite sure how you could play the game without a Gamepad. The gyro aiming and being able to see a full map on your second screen and easily tap a teammate or beacon to Super Jump to their location are key parts of playing the game

Yeah, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed comes to mind. I bought it on 360 a week before it came out thanks to broken street dates, then again on Vita because I wanted it on the go and it was on sale at the time. Later got it in a bundle on Steam once I had a not-toaster PC, and on Wii U since a friend wanted to play online and it was on sale.

Usually no, but it depends. I don't like wasting money so I make choices of platform based on preferences. Typically I'm choosing between ps4/vita multiplats. If I care for online I tend to use vita, but if its singleplayer I almost always go with ps4. I bought vc1 on ps4 because I never got the dlc on ps3, so it was cheaper.
