Learn your "Stand off" movement options. Chaka has really good hyper hops and super jumps when the sword is in the scabbard. Hyper hop into Stand on j.C can be followed by whatever you want on the ground. If you don't want to bother with custom combos, you can just j.C,s.C,236Cx3 or j.C>s.A,A,B,C,Bxx236B+C.
Parrying is cool, but don't rely too much on it, you can become predictable.
236S while your stand is off is a great poking tool and an anti-air. Don't bother with his DP, use either 236S or B for airborne enemies.

Rekka mixups are utterly useless, don't bother unless you are playing against a newbie. They are not safe on block and any character can just mash buttons and beat you out of A or B rekka. Go for the damage, always.
Poking and waiting for an opponent to make a mistake are your optimal choices. Chaka isn't as powerful as most of the cast, but is simple to control and understand and relies on honest footsies.

Just read it all and form your own opinion. As far as I'm concerned Part 5 is better than Parts 1, 2, 3 and 6. It's got a great cast, even if you don't like Giorno, you're probably going to at least like Mista and Bruno a lot, and while the other memebrs of the VA crew may not be as liked as them, they're not hated either. The fights in VA are fantastic, it has the highest consistency of great Stands in the series, except for maybe JJL. The shitty scanlations bring it down, but it's still worth reading.

The VA crew were likeable characters and, aside from Fugo, they all felt like they had a role and there was a genuine relationship between them, rather than just feeling like some guys who were thrown together and went on an adventure.I would take some development in the form of a one off background story forevery character over the SDC approach of only developing one character while letting the other characters just exist with maybe a couple of throwaway lines of dialogue about who they are.
Doppio was charming and served as a nice way of having the reclusive boss work in the field. It was hardly stalling, as it was almost immediately revealed that Doppio was the boss. SCR wasn't hard to follow and the fact that Doppio and Diavolo were two separate souls had been clearly established at that point.

The manga pages were bad because the game ran at such low resolution so it was hard to see who was there till you hovered on them.
I like fun shapes for fighting game char selects, CVS2's diamond motif was very slick and carried into the rest of the UI very well.
