Despite what /v/ parrots, videogames have been considered an artistic medium for a while.
Not saying all videogames are art, because it's just stupid as implying all movies are art, but many of them have some sort of artistic value. There are videogame museum and videogame art expositions all around the world. Many books have been written about videogames and their design values.

Art is something that exists since the first human being was born. Art has a long story, even older than 5000 years.
History is full of amazing art pieces, them being pictures, statues, poems or so on.
And yet, whenever /v/ discusses art, people can't help but bringing Manzoni's "artist's shit" in the conversation. It's not even the most strange piece of art of the previous century and yet, here you go, here's an anon using that thing as a generic example that embodies all the art, in an attempt to imply: if shit can be art, well, why no videogames, right?
