The bouncer is god-tier in this game. I had to stop using it so much because it made things too easy, but it looks really nice.

To be honest, R&C1 is kind of clunky compared to Going Commando and beyond. The lack of strifing does make it so you really can't damage from a distance and the incredibly small amount of hp can screw you over real easy.
It's Crash 1 versus 2 and 3 or spyro 1 versus 2-3; It's not that it0s a BAD game, but it's hard going back to it after way better sequels.

It's really bad game design to be honest, if you preordered then the game's sparse level of challenge is completely negated. The Bouncer should be treated like a panic button if you want any difficulty whatsoever on Hard/Challenge Mode, cuz it's basically a free screen nuke you can spam whenever you want.
once i stopped using it the game was actually more fun.
my biggest complaint besides OP Bouncer would be the pausing when you open weapon wheel
it'd be a lot better if it just slowed everything down instead of pausing the whole game. cuz you will end up opening it three or four times in quick succession to drop bass drum, agents, groovibomb, etc

dude, i've beaten every R&C game 100%. i beat them on ps2 when i was a kid and again in HD, plus SAC and Size Matters and both "mini" titles QFB and ITN.
i don't count A4O or FFA because they were trash.

They do. There's also a quicker select that lets you assign guns to the directional buttons.
The main problem this game has is some of the targeting. If you activate strafe lock ratchet always runs with his wrench up, ready to throw it with the reticle out even though you have to hold a button to throw it anyways.
You also have to fire a gun to switch to your gun's reticle.

Fuck I miss this one so much. Most of the "rapid fire" blasters in the Future series (and the reboot) are slow as fuck. None really satisfied that machine gun itch the N90 Hurricane and Dual Vipers did.
